Cameron and Vincent Vigil
09/02/26, Tucson AZ
Cameron Davis Capara and Vincent Anthony Siqueiros, victims of a hate crime, were shot and killed on 08/31/26 in the parking lot of the Venture-N, a quiet neighborhood LGBTQ bar in Tucson AZ. On 09/02/26, a vigil was held for Cameron and Vincent at the 4th Avenue Catalina Park.
With a thousand people in attendance, speakers included Vincent's sister and Cameron's father, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, City Council members including Ward 1/ Vice Mayor Lane Santa Cruz, Ward 6 Miranda Schubert, and Pima County Board of Supervisor District 5 Andres Cano. 40 clergy members of all faiths stood in prayer and solidarity.
While I did not know Vincent personally, Cameron and I were friends who got to know each other through the marches, protests, rallies and vigils we had been documenting since the Spring 2024.
